Logos are not the easiest thing in the world to develop. In face they can be downright frustrating. I found two decent articles online to check out for some tips on logo design:
Really though I think it just takes some practice and some inspiration. Just design and redesign while keeping in mind a few simple rules like simplicity (check out the articles for more) and keep looking for inspiration.
